It's been a really long time since I've had dreams, ambitions, been a really long time since that didn't seem like a form of the utmost arrogance. Mostly I've been living from one day to the next, taking steps as they come and not really daring to look further ahead. And now I've got all these ideas and possibilities and things I might like to do, and some of them are stupid and ridiculous but they're there, things I want, and why the fuck shouldn't I allow myself to think about them?

It seems a step forward has been made, somewhere in the brain pan, And It Is Good.

Looking for fics where Mckay is super-smart, eg:

He hides his extra smartness so people don't try to kidnap him more often, He has fake identities set up for in case he wants to go into hiding, His jerk personality if fake in order to put off people wanting him to work for them,
He is so smart that the other scientists can't keep up/understand him...

Hey, I just had a flash of a fic I once read.
Wasn't there a SGA version of Planes, Trains and Automobiles? It would have been McShep, 'cause that's more or less all I read.

Dude, where was my internet? This morning when I arrived on campus I discovered we had no internet: no email, no IM, no browsers. I start work before anyone else, so I left a note for our IT people, but our two network people were off today. We didn't have access to the internet until around 10:30, and no email till after lunch. Many, many unhappy students, staff, and faculty. Ah well. I filed and then washed my desk. It's literally impossible to do my work without the internet; I imagine that's true for many people these days.

Word count: only 164. But my goal is only 100 words/night, so I exceeded that.

• I tried Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I made the dough last night and baked a loaf this morning before work. Delicious! There's a huge bowl of dough in the fridge, which is supposed to last for fourteen days. Fresh bread whenever we want. I love the idea.
  
  
• Thirty-three Names of Things You Never Knew Had Names. Actually I did know some of the names. Punt, of course, because I love champagne, and liripipe because -- actually, I don't know why I know that. But it's such a great word.

I'm looking for some fics where John doesn't like touching, hardly ever touches anyone, or he flinches when someone tries to touch him and his team, or Rodney notices and help him with the issue by slowly getting him used to people touching him. Gen, Mcshep or OT4 preferred.

That Which @ the SGA Big Bang Site.

Writing this was a blast, really, for all that I'm really bad about flirting with deadlines. I've never written anything so plotty before, and it was a lot more fun than I expected! One of the things I enjoyed most was trying to put in some signature character moments for the supporting cast in the story, and so Ronon, Zelenka, and Sam to name a few got their own places to shine in That Which. Ultimately, though, it's John and Rodney's story, where each goes through their own kind of journey. I hope you enjoy!

Big Bang RECS: Dawn Will Break (by ca_pierson and darkmoore, McShep) has a premise that recommends itself (John hops through universes, Quantum Leap-style, fixing things), so I don't think I have to prod anyone too much to go read that (eta: it occurs to me that I raved a lot more than I had planned to about my other rec--this fic was also a great read, fun, fabulous premise, and I enjoyed it a lot)-
-but (as in 'but for those who weren't looking at non McShep stories/those who needed to be poked, of whom I include myself:') I also read siriaeve's These Proverbs We Made in the Winter Must End, a Jennifer/Ronon piece. GO READ IT OMG. Spectacular world-building, spot-on characterization, and the simply gorgeous writing we've all come to expect from siriaeve. Plus, the art, oh the art. *handsflail* I know you guys, like me, have been waiting for your McShep novel-lengths since signups, but this story really is amazing, and friendshipper's awesome art convinced me to read it before a lot of the other stories I've been waiting for. I didn't regret my choice a bit.

So, I was in my editing software, about to finish a video, and as I was saving it, for the trillionth time, my laptop overheated and shut off. When I opened the file back up after restarting the computer, it had significantly changes (half of it was missing, for one). Had anyone had this problem that knows how to undo changes done to a file?

I use Puremotion EditStudio. Which I think no longer technically exists as a company, so... yeah.

I haven't had a chance to even glance at the stories or artwork yet. (OMG, so busy today!) But if you're looking for my art, it's here.

I'll probably babble a little about the process of drawing it at some point when I a) have more than two seconds to type and b) folks have had a chance to read the story, so I won't be spoiling anything. Suffice it to say it was a ton of fun to do, and I'm so glad I chose to participate in this, the final year.
