So...I had a weird thought today when I was responding to an email from someone, in that I found myself assuming the person I was responding to was a woman. Which, granted, I try not to do (usually I obliquely try to hint/ask) but usually end up doing anyway for efficacy's sake.
But that led me to wondering and then realizing, yeah, of course, there must be some guys out in slash fandom who might not want to identify themselves as male even if they are, because they might get treated as oddities or alien, and it's easy to be anonymous online.

It has become clear to me recently, due to the present ongoing discussion re: warnings, that I've made some assumptions as a writer that were unfair to readers who might have triggers. So, to clarify: I always warn for any non-consensual sex, or rape, torture, character death or disability that appears in my stories (I've added a note in my profile to indicate as much.) I thought that was *normal*. The warnings will always be linked to in the header of the story.
In addition, I'm about halfway through adding "Warnings: none" to the headers of all of my stories that don't require any warnings, just so that anyone happening upon them will know there are no (anticipated) triggers in those stories.
If there are other things you as a reader feel I should warn for, let me know. I do occasionally warn for something else, such as blasphemy (sexual) or violence to innocent little animals (hey, bug!John needed to eat), but that's for squick, not for triggers. I don't write incest or suicide, and I don't even know what chan is, so they're not on my list. But if you're ever reading one of my stories and are disturbed and upset and didn't feel warned, please do let me know.
This is my responsibility as a writer, as a person who gives a damn about the people who are trusting me with their minds. That's what I think, anyway.

If you've ever taken the time to read one of my stories, I just want to say thanks for trusting me with your mind, with your heart, and for taking the journey with me.
And for those who have been so generous as to comment on my stories: Thank you so, so much. You will never know how much *every time* it delights me to learn I've made a connection, and maybe brought some joy.
Thank you!
In other news: still working on edits for the sequel to Fair Trade. I hope to post it this weekend.

Read here for how Amazon is essentially censoring GLBTQ works by stripping them of their sales rankings.
You can help protest by a) boycotting those mofos, b) signing the petition, or c) joining the googlebomb campaign.
Me, I've just written them a mean, mean letter. They won't be getting my cash dollars until they fix this.
ETA: And now some are speculating this is some sort of Bantown or Right-wing Easter prank/plot. Hmm. Keep watch at #Amazonfail on twitter.
( My letter to those Amazon.com batshit ass-hats. )
My googlebomb link: Amazon Rank.

...and now I owe her ONE MILLION DOLLARS. But it's so worth it.

(A loose paraphrasing of Ces's post. Many of us will be on channel #sga tomorrow. Come commiserate! Fandom lives on in zombie AUs, and do not be afraid of John/Todd, for that will come too. Bonus: John and Rodney as trees!
If you don't have an irc client, just use Firefox: http://irc.sff.net/)
